Learning Thing #13
Wow! A word processor online, this is such a unique tool. I can see why some people are saying that a creation such as this one will be the death of Microsoft Word. Lets see -- sign up was free, there was no fee, like you have to install Microsoft into your computer, it is very user friendly, and you can save your documents....Wow! It seems absurd why anyone who would purchase word processing software. My only concern would be, is the program compatible to be opened on peoples computers, when you send the documents through email. I would imagine so, with how indepth everything on this word processer is. I decided to take the challenge approach, and am typing my blog in the word processer, and am going to post it to the blog using the publishing feature. I have already done one ( I posted my rantings about something that happened tonight, using the publishing tool, it was actually quite simple). It is kind of scary and cool at the same time how everything is intertwined, on the thing that we call the world wide web. The things that we can do and accomplish on the web are becoming endless possibilities, I look forward to using these tools in class. Why couldn't students respond and then post their responses to blogs they have created.......I think the possibilities are there, we just have to take the next step and be creative with the tools that we are provided.

Amanda,
All of the documents that you create with Google Docs or Zoho Writer live online, so others access them on the web too - there's no e-mailing involved! If you want someone to look at or work on a document you have created, you just send them the URL and give them rights to access it. It is great!
